Sarasota History - Worth's Block, a.k.a. the Gator Club photo

Worth's Block building was constructed in 1912 as a general store and animal feed store. Over the years its functionality changed by housing a soda fountain, gathering area for radio broadcasts, a liquor store, a bawdy house (based on rumor), and had apartments on the second level. Ringling Bros. circus workers congregated there when in town. Today is houses the Gator Club, an upscale place for drinks, entertainment and an overall good time. Some things never change.
