John Ringling Winter Home
Postcards: Sarasota History
John and Mable Ringling visited Sarasota several times before they built their museum and Ca'd'Zan. This house was sold to them by Ralph Caples, then general agent of the New York Central, He had purchased it shortly before from Charles Thompson who was one of the most skilled circus men in the country. These two men were instrumental in influencing the Ringlings to move to Sarasota permanently.
